Two monitors and identification

I have two monitors set up. Under Control Panel and “Display”, my primary monitor is shown as monitor # 2. I supose this is normal. However, under Color Management and “Devices”, my primary monitor is shown as display 1 and the other monitor as display 2. Can anyone tell me how this has happened and how I can fix it?
