E: DVD drive won't write

I've opened ImgBurn and I try to write a file to E:// (DVD Drive) and it picked up the disk inside the machine before, but then it crashed and it won't detect it again. It was doing this with SONY discs so I thought I'd buy more and see if it made a difference, although now these brand new discs won't even .. load to write (did before).
