Is it possible to disable a single gamepad button?

I was wondering if, as the title says, its possible to disable a gamepad button in the windows usb gamepad properties section? I have a N64 usb adapter and am trying to run a gamester dynamic steering wheel however the start button on the wheel, and button 10 in the gamepad properties, is rapid firing. ie flashing up as being pressed every 2-5 seconds.
