Need some help with choosing hard disc drive.

Hi I am planning to change my pc to a new one and i was reading few forums and people were talking about spending extra money to get ssd drive. i know they are way better and also expensive and do not have much space, but if lets say i get 240gb ssd drive and additionaly 1tb hdd drive as a second drive, would that mean i could have my windows installed on ssd and programs and games on normal...
